Ausangate (6398 m / 20991 ft) is considered one of the most beautiful snow-capped mountains in the Andes. The region surrounding the mountain offers stunning landscapes of mountains, glaciers, lagoons, and streams. Furthermore, the Andean people are very hospitable and respectful of nature.

Farmers have excellent knowledge of raising livestock such as vicuñas, alpacas, and llamas, which are prized for their excellent wool and meat quality. The four-hour trip from Cusco to Upips (Tinqui) is excellent preparation for the differences in temperature and altitude.
